Catherine Ann’s roots are in theatre direction and writing. She has been directing since 2012 and trained in the Stanislavsky tradition at Tulane University. Her practice has been shaped by mentorship from theatre artists connected to the Moscow Art Theatre, the Globe Theatre, and Suzuki’s company. Her theatre work includes producing two five-star productions at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as well as collaborations with Red Spear Productions, Emerging Artists Theatre, the English Theatre of Rome, Manhattan Repertory Theatre, and The Players on Gramercy Park.
She holds an MFA in Film and Television Producing from Brooklyn College and brings over a decade of directing and producing experience across theatre and film. Her production background also includes professional festival operations with the Tribeca Film Festival. She has produced four acclaimed short films. Most recently, she worked on Dexter: Resurrection (Season 1) and line produced a feature film in New York. A short she produced, Strays, was nominated for Indie Shorts Magazine’s Film of the Year and won Best Screenplay (2025).
